Xuemei Zhang of Beijing Janlea Patent Agency Co., Ltd. represented the invalidation declaration of the utility model “” and succeeded.

The invalidation declaration case involved the no. 201220289592.X utility model patent, named “A Type of High Voltage Insulated Paper Screw and Nut for Transformers”, which was granted by the State Intellectual Property Office on January 16th 2013. It was applied on June 19th 2012 and involved the patent owner Taizhou Xinyuan Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. 

Beijing Janlea Patent Agency Co., Ltd. received the commission of the invalidation applicant Taizhou Weideman High Voltage Insulation Co., Ltd. and had agent Zhang Wenyi conducting invalidation inquiry on the aforementioned patent. After the searching and skimming through over a hundred literatures, the agent selected two technical publications as the invalidation evidence, requesting the declaration that the aforementioned patent was not in compliance with the innovation described in article 22 paragraph 3 of the Patent Law.

In the invalidation facts and reasons, the agent conducted thorough research in the involved patent and the technical schemes of the current technologies. He divided the technical schemes into several technical characteristics and conducted close comparison between the technical characteristics. 

Since the materials for the invalidation declaration request were fully prepared and sufficient evidence was provided during the oral trialing process, the Patent Reexamination Board accepted the arguments of the invalidation declaration applicant. The Board made the “Invalidation Declaration Request Evaluation Decision” on April 3rd 2014 and declared invalidation for all of the patent rights of the aforementioned patent.
