Commissioned by the “Girl of Olympic Games”, Lin Miaoke, as the attorney of Lin Miaoke, our firm filed an opposition against the several “Lin Miaoke” trademarks registered in bad faith by a trading company in Yunan. Up to now, Trademark Office of Chine issued the opposition adjudication for the “Lin Miaoke” series trademarks opposition and lawfully refused the trading company’s application for registration.

After the evaluation, the Trademark Office ruled as follows: The opposer, Lin Miaoke, participated in several prominent social events, including the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games. She possessed fairly high popularity among the relevant public of our country. Without the permission of the opposer, the opposed party arbitrarily applied for the registration of “Lin Miaoke” as a trademark under its own name, committing an infringement on the prior right to name of the opposer. The reasons for the opposer’s opposition were tenable and the opposed trademark would not be approved.

The series of cases successfully and powerfully protected the lawful rights of Lin Miaoke. It was another successful example, along with the previous legal services we accomplished for public figures including Yao Ming, Lin Dan, and Ding Junhui.
