On June 15th 2011, Wuhan Intermediate People’s Court began the trial for the famous basketball player Yao Ming’s accusation on Wuhan Yunhe Dashayu Sporting Goods Co., Ltd. for its infringement on his right of name and portrait, and for unfair competition. Lawyer Zhang Honglv and lawyer Xu jin of Beijing Janlea Law Firm attended the trial and the pre-trial cross-examination held previously on June 13th, as the attorneys for Yao Ming. During the trial, the two proposed the claim that the defendant should stop its infringement, offer apology and compensate with 10 million RMB, and fulfill other responsibilities. They also fully explained the contention of the plaintiff.
