Introduction: On December 12, 2016, the Supreme People's Court Judicial Committee passed the Provision on Several Issues Concerning Hearing Administrative Cases of Trademark Licensing and Formulation of Trademark Right, this provision includes 31 articles, and mainly relates to substantial contents, for example, the scope of examination, the judgment of distinguishing features, the protection of well-known trademark , the protection of prior rights such as the right of

copyright, the right of name. This provision clarifies important issues involved in the administrative cases of Trademark Licensing and Formulation of Trademark Right and difficult issues in the judgment practice.  This provision shall come into force on March 1, 2017. At the same time, in order to conform to the third revision of the Trademark Law, to further standardize and improve the trademark examination and trademark judgment, the Trademark Office and the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board have revised the Trademark Review and Approval Standards.

Following the end of the first lecture regarding this provision held on March 30, Mr. Jin XU started the second lecture for managers, agents and senior assistants of each business departments at 2:30 pm of April 1. In this meeting, Lawyer Jin XU explained “Understanding and Application of Trademark Review Standards” in accordance with the revision of the provisions from six aspects, analyzed the Review Standards of the new Sound Trademark in detail, and listed cases of some familiar Sound Trademarks.

At the end of the meeting, the staff analyzed the past cases, to illustrate that some issues before the revision of the provision have been addressed through this revision. The revision of "Trademark Review and Trial Standards" better standardized the formulation of Trademark Right.
