China Intellectual Property Recently, hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office, the "IP5+ID5" promotion meeting, highlighting the industrial cooperation in the fields of inventions and design, was held in Beijing and Shenzhen.
At the meeting, 13 staff from the Department of Treaty and Law, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Planning and Development, Department of Business Review Administration, Department of Appearance, Department of Literature and Department of Automation under SIPO, who were familiar with IP5 cooperation, briefed the progress made and the next-step development by the IP5 in invention and design fields to over 250 representatives from industries, agencies, US, Japanese and South Korean embassies and consulates.
During the conversational session, representatives from industries, agents from agencies and the related workers in the field or intellectual property conversed and interacted efficiently and comprehensively with the speakers, with respect to their individual professional needs. The attendees expressed their wish to see such type of promotion meeting to be regularly held, in order to showcase the latest accomplishments of IP5 to the industry.
Since 2012, IP5 started to establish the face-to-face communication mechanism with the industry pertaining to inventions.
This promotion meeting was held to realize the agreement reached by IP5 and ID5 in 2015 and 2016. It aimed to deepen the concept of providing better services for users and the public, to further advance the understanding and participation of Chinese enterprises for international intellectual property regulations, and to improve these enterprises’ abilities of engaging in intellectual property affairs. The promoting meeting enabled the attendees to further understand the latest progress and the accomplishments of IP5 in invention and design fields. It helped the enterprises to express and their difficulties in terms of patent application of authorization in the process of “going global”, and provided them with responses from the attending professionals for the confusions and questions they encountered. The promotion meeting was a great exercise of State Intellectual Property Office realizing the concept of providing better services for users and the public.
